Green enameled stoneware pitcher vase by Claude Marcaggi, "KAOL" in Génicourt - 1970s

Elegant green glazed stoneware pitcher vase, signed by Claude Marcaggi (KAOL) , a French potter active between the 1950s and 1980s. His pottery workshop was located in Génicourt, near Paris, where he produced many decorative and utilitarian creations.

He also worked under the name KAOL , developing a sculptural output with expressive and modern forms. His sculptures, often figurative but sometimes close to abstraction, explore stoneware and the depth of glazes, oscillating between decorative art and autonomous artwork.

This pitcher is distinguished by its slender, teardrop shape, its thin, arched handle, and its delicately pinched spout. The deep green enamel, nuanced with dark highlights, illustrates Marcaggi's aesthetic pursuits.

Under the base, the piece bears the monogram " CM" for Claude Marcaggi , the marking "Génicourt" , as well as a workshop number.
