Napoleon III vase in Sèvres porcelain and gilt bronze – Champlevé enamels, 19th century

Decorative Sèvres porcelain vase, richly mounted in gilt bronze with champlevé enamels , made during the Napoleon III era , in the second half of the 19th century.
This baluster-shaped model rests on a circular base in gilt bronze adorned with enameled foliate motifs, typical of the historicist and eclectic taste of the Second Empire.

The porcelain body features hand-painted polychrome decoration , with delicately treated figurative cartouches : a winged putto in a pastoral landscape, and a refined musical motif (tambourine and score), framed by rich scrolls and gold highlights.
The slender neck is entirely covered with a gilt bronze mount with turquoise blue champlevé enamels , decorated with vegetal scrolls and stylized reserves, giving the whole a beautiful decorative presence.

This type of production is part of the French decorative tradition inspired by the creations of the Manufacture nationale de Sèvres , accompanying the bourgeois and aristocratic interiors of the 19th century.

Very good overall condition for a 19th-century object. Light wear and natural patina on the gilt bronze, minor wear and slight rubbing on the porcelain gilding. Some parts of the bronze are slightly dented, see photos.
