Mexican decorative vase/pot made in the 1970s by the Los Castillo workshop in Taxco , a reference in 20th century Mexican goldsmithing and design.
This model features a low, rounded shape, entirely covered with a geometric mosaic work in natural hard stones, in a deep palette of greens and blues.
The surface is composed of inlays of malachite , lapis lazuli and azure-malachite , carefully assembled on a silvered copper base. The decoration is enriched with stylized figures of pre-Columbian inspiration , applied in silver , brass and copper , typical of the decorative vocabulary of Los Castillo, between modernism and traditional heritage.
The underside bears the mintmark Taxco / Hecho a Mano / Mexico / Plateado.
