Very good overall condition. Minor wear, micro-scratches and oxidation consistent with age and use. Beautiful original patina preserved.

A Japanese bronze vase dating from the late 19th century, Meiji period (1868–1912), remarkable for the delicacy of its naturalistic relief decoration. The surface is adorned with flowering branches, finely engraved foliage, and birds in motion, traditional symbols of nature and renewal in Japanese art.

The deep, nuanced golden-brown patina testifies to an antique bronze of fine quality, worked according to Japanese artisanal techniques typical of the Meiji era, a period marked by the opening of Japan to the West and a refinement of decorative arts intended for export.

The slender and harmonious shape, with a slightly flared neck and circular base, makes it a beautiful decorative piece for a display case, a shelf or an interior mixing Asian art, curiosities and collectibles.
