Very good overall condition. No cracks or chips. Minimal signs of wear at the base. Gilding well preserved.

An elegant black porcelain vase from Limoges, signed by Camille Tharaud, renowned for his mastery of the pâte-sur-pâte technique, here exemplified by a delicate frieze of putti (cherubs) in matte white relief against a satin black background. This rare technique requires the manual layering of porcelain to achieve a refined sculptural effect.

This model is typical of Tharaud's production in the 1930s , combining neo-classical-inspired classicism with modernist lines. The flared neck, highlighted with a gold rim, completes the vase's harmonious silhouette. The base bears the marks "THARAUD LIMOGES FRANCE".
