Good overall condition for a 19th-century piece. Minor signs of wear and internal marks consistent with its manufacture and age are present. Note: a transverse crack and a discreet repair to the neck, as well as small chips at the base. The enamel is well preserved, with a beautiful sheen.

Charming glazed earthenware vase made by Eugène Victor Collinot , a figure of 19th century French ceramics, dated around 1870 .
This vase features an intense turquoise blue enamel , typical of the chromatic research carried out by Collinot and strongly influenced by Asian arts and the Japonisme aesthetic then in full swing in Europe.

The decoration, finely painted and enhanced with slightly raised outlines , depicts cherry blossom branches accompanied by birds , motifs borrowed from Far Eastern iconography. The composition harmoniously embraces the baluster shape of the vase, with its slightly flared neck, creating a beautiful balance between volume and the delicacy of the decoration.

Like Théodore Deck, Eugène Victor Collinot (1824–1889) is considered one of the greatest ceramists of his time. Deeply inspired by Asia and the Orient, he developed an innovative decorative language and distinguished himself through the invention and mastery of cloisonné enamels in relief on earthenware , a technique consisting of separating the different enamels with a raised line called a border . Several of his major works were presented at the Universal Exhibitions in Paris and Vienna , where they met with significant critical acclaim.

The base features incised and numbered markings , including the "EC Toujours" stamp characteristic of the productions of the Collinot & Cie workshop.
