Earthenware vase by Kari Christensen for Aluminia, Denmark – Tenera Series, 1960s

A glazed earthenware vase created by Danish ceramicist Kari Christensen for Aluminia , from the Tenera series produced in the 1960s. This cylindrical model features a stylized geometric and floral relief decoration, typical of Mid-Century Scandinavian design, in nuanced shades of light blue, beige, and honey brown . Its crackled glaze and dense texture contrast beautifully with the rich glazes characteristic of this series.

The Tenera line, overseen by Nils Thorsson for Aluminia (now Royal Copenhagen), brought together several talented Danish female artists – including Kari Christensen, Ellen Malmer and Berte Jessen – whose creations are now appreciated for their modernism, rich textures and subtle Nordic palette .

This vase originally came with a matching ceramic stopper , now missing, but this does not detract from its decorative appeal. Perfect as a bud vase or simply as a collector's item.

Piece marked under the base with the Aluminia Denmark logo, bearing the reference 539/3435 and the artist's signature.

Very good overall condition, with fine glaze cracks typical of period earthenware. Stopper missing. No chips or cracks. Glossy glaze and well-preserved colors.
