Very good overall condition, small, discreet chip under the base. Beautiful enamel and texture well preserved.

Art Deco vase from the 1930s from Céramique La Charentaise , a factory founded in Angoulême at the beginning of the 20th century.
Made of beige stoneware covered with a "crisped" or "volcanic" glaze , this vase features a blend of bluish-grey and ivory-white tones , revealing the raw clay in places. Its textured, almost organic surface evokes movement and matter, in an aesthetic typical of the Art Deco period.

La Céramique La Charentaise was founded in 1923 by Chapon, Taffet, and Condamine (Taffet's son-in-law), all three former employees of Renoleau. The company, based in Angoulême, quickly became Renoleau's main competitor and imitator , a fact recognized as early as 1927. The Taffet family, ceramicists since the 19th century, contributed significantly to the regional reputation of this earthenware factory, renowned for the quality of its glazes and the richness of its decorations.

A beautiful and expressive period piece, testifying to the Charente know-how in 20th-century decorative ceramics.
