Glazed ceramic colocynth vase with drips - Art Nouveau / Arts & Crafts

A superb glazed ceramic vase in the shape of a gourd, featuring a double-bulged body, a narrow neck, and a side handle. It displays a remarkable decoration of multicolored drips in shades of brown, green, blue, and gold, with an iridescent, cascading effect. The complex glaze, with its blended nuances, testifies to a refined technical skill, typical of the aesthetic explorations around 1900.

This type of decoration evokes the flamed stoneware of regional French schools (particularly Burgundy or Vallauris) and the naturalistic style promoted by the Art Nouveau and Arts & Crafts movements.
