An elegant spherical vase in glazed stoneware, signed by the French ceramist Yvon Le Douget , a discreet yet renowned figure in contemporary ceramics. This piece features a deep glaze blending shades of cobalt blue and black , with a beautiful speckled and textured effect across its entire surface.
The glaze reveals a subtle interplay of ceramic atmospheres: satin and glossy areas, evoking a night sky, contrast with the vase's dark, matte base. The piece is signed under the base: "Y. Le Douget," hand-engraved into the raw clay before firing. A small letter "A" is also visible, likely a reference to a series.
Note: a visible crack runs across part of the surface from the neck to the body of the vase (see close-up photos). This crack is well integrated visually into the glaze and does not affect the structural integrity of the piece.
