Large spherical stoneware vase with a crystallized glaze , made in the 1930s by Paul Langeron for the Pont-des-Vernes factory. This piece illustrates the Art Deco aesthetic with its spherical shape and crystallized decoration, obtained through a complex firing process that creates natural and random patterns in the glaze.

The shades of golden brown, olive green, and red, punctuated with crystallizations, give this vase remarkable depth and a unique brilliance. Paul Langeron, an important figure in Pont-des-Vernes, distinguished himself through his research on special enamels, particularly crystallized glazes.

The Pont-des-Vernes factory, founded at the beginning of the 19th century, developed around the deposits of white clay discovered during the digging of the Canal du Centre. Under the impetus of the Langeron family, the factory gradually expanded and specialized in the production of utilitarian stoneware (hot water bottles, bottles, pitchers, sanitary containers) while also distributing decorative creations under the brands "PL Pont-des-Vernes" and "Maïtena" . From the 1920s onwards, the workshop also developed slip casting and sizing techniques, facilitating the creation of artistic and innovative pieces.
