Very good overall condition. Fine, even crazing in the enamel, consistent with its age and the technique used. Minor wear and discreet rubbing to the gilding. See photos for details.

A glazed ceramic vase produced by Boch Frères Keramis around 1900, a remarkable example of Belgian Art Nouveau at the turn of the 20th century.

The vase features a superb celadon green glaze with iridescent reflections, enhanced by a floral decoration painted in polychrome enamels and punctuated with gilt highlights. The plant motifs, finely outlined in black, are set within geometric reserves typical of the Art Nouveau aesthetic, blending Japanese influences with decorative symbolism.

The slender silhouette, with a narrow neck and flared base, highlights the depth and luminosity of the lustrous enamel, characteristic of Keramis productions around 1900. The base bears the handwritten mark "BFK" accompanied by a shape number.

About the factory
Founded in the 18th century by the Boch family, the Keramis factory, located in La Louvière, Belgium, became one of the pillars of European ceramics in the 19th century. Combining technical innovation with artistic excellence, Boch Frères excelled in the quality of its fine earthenware and its refined decorative production. At the end of the 19th and beginning of the 20th centuries, the company produced charming Art Nouveau creations before achieving international renown with Art Deco under the direction of Charles Catteau.

A high-quality decorative vase, ideal for an Art Nouveau collection, a refined interior, or a lover of European ceramics from the Belle Époque.
