Large vase in crackled glazed ceramic made by the Boch Frères Keramis factory, after a model attributed to Charles Catteau , around 1930, a key period of Belgian Art Deco.

This vase features a floral design with powerful, geometric forms, characteristic of the decorative language developed by Charles Catteau during the interwar period. The central composition, punctuated by large flowers with structured petals and stylized plant motifs, is highlighted by a contrasting color palette of deep blue, green, yellow, and touches of reddish-brown, against a cream background with a crackled glaze.

Vertical green and turquoise bands accentuate the vase's slender silhouette, reinforcing its balance and modern appeal. The neck is highlighted with a thick, glossy cobalt blue glaze.

The background bears the printed stamp "BOCH Frères – La Louvière – Made in Belgium" as well as a decoration number.

About the creator
Artistic director of Boch Frères Keramis from 1906, Charles Catteau is one of the major figures of European Art Deco. He profoundly transformed the factory's aesthetic by introducing modernist decorations, a strong stylization, and a bold exploration of color, making Keramis an international benchmark in the 1920s and 1930s.

A high-quality decorative vase, ideal for an Art Deco collection or eclectic interior decoration.
