Made of jade green glazed earthenware , it is decorated with an inlaid silver floral design.
Under the base, the vase bears the mark “Gustavsberg Argenta 1079 L – Made in Sweden” with the anchor, the signature of the manufacture.
This series is known for its contrast between silver and deep green enamel.
Wilhelm Kåge (1889–1960), artistic director of Gustavsberg, is known as one of the great Nordic ceramists of the 20th century, a master of form and refined graphic design.
