This piece features a remarkable repoussé and chiseled decoration depicting a lively hunting scene: an armed horseman pursuing wild animals in a stylized landscape, surrounded by a wide, finely engraved floral frieze.

The metalwork reveals a traditional Persian craftsmanship, blending figurative narrative and vegetal ornamentation, typical of Qajar art. This type of dish was intended for decorative or ceremonial use, often hung on the wall, as indicated by the original suspension ring on the reverse.
