Enamelled porcelain lamp base produced by the Imperial Lomonosov Porcelain Factory (ЛФЗ – Leningradski Farforovy Zavod) in the 1970s, under the Soviet Union.
Hand-painted decoration of stylized floral motifs in emerald green, petrol blue and golden brown tones on a cream background.

The Imperial Porcelain Factory was founded in 1744 in Saint Petersburg on the orders of Empress Elizabeth. A pioneer of Russian porcelain, the factory – famous for its luxurious tableware for Catherine II and its decorative vases – remains today one of the major symbols of Russian decorative art.

During the Soviet period, it took the name Lomonosov , in homage to the scientist Mikhail Lomonosov, and produced pieces that were both artistic and functional, testifying to the technical quality of its craftsmen.
