An exceptional small Thai vase from the 15th century, made of stoneware covered with an elegant green celadon glaze, typical of the production of Sawankhalok , a renowned ceramic center of the Sukhothai (and later Ayutthaya) kingdom. This vase has a refined ovoid shape with two small button handles on either side of the neck.
The pale celadon green glaze displays a natural network of characteristic cracks, indicative of traditional firing and a beautiful patina acquired over time. The unglazed base reveals an old hand-thrown edge. An old chip is visible on the neck.
