A superb glazed stoneware vase created by the French ceramist Patrick Rollet in the 1990s. This unique piece is distinguished by its sculptural, raised handles and its nuanced glaze in deep shades of brown, gray, midnight blue, and metallic highlights. The decoration, featuring vertical drips and arcs, accentuates the vase's volume with a beautiful fluidity.
Patrick Rollet (born in 1950) is a ceramicist trained at the Sèvres high school in Françoise Bizette's workshop. Established for over thirty years, he has developed a self-taught approach to glazes, which he transforms into a true artistic language, serving an aesthetic exploration centered on color. While still active in sculpting large figures, he is now recognized for his remarkable mastery of glaze application.
The "Rollet" signature is engraved under the base.
