Large Art Deco platter in iridescent black and gold ceramic by Verceram - 1940s

Large decorative dish in iridescent black and gold glazed ceramic , signed Verceram , a manufacturer located in Montreuil, near Paris , active from the 1930s to the early 1970s.

This factory began with Art Deco-influenced pieces like this one , and continued in the 50s and 60s to create ceramics with modernist, more refined shapes , often enhanced by metallic glazes with changing reflections.

This model features a symmetrical openwork design , inspired by stylized geometric patterns typical of the 1930s and 40s. The iridescent black glaze, with gold and bronze reflections, gives the piece a deep and unique brilliance depending on the light.

The base bears the Verceram France stamp in relief.
