An elegant Art Nouveau figurine made around 1900 by the Royal Dux Bohemia factory. This unglazed biscuit porcelain sculpture represents a young boy sitting on a seashell, forming a small trinket dish or decorative bowl integrated into the composition.

The modeling is refined and expressive, typical of the Art Nouveau style with its organic lines, delicate naturalism, and sense of movement. The matte biscuit porcelain highlights the details of the face, hair, and anatomy. The composition evokes the marine and decorative world, so popular during the Belle Époque.

Founded in 1853 in Duchcov (Dux), Bohemia, the Royal Dux factory established itself as one of the leading names in European porcelain at the turn of the 20th century. Initially focused on utilitarian production, it experienced a decisive boom under the leadership of Eduard Eichler, a visionary artist and entrepreneur. From 1898 onwards, Royal Dux distinguished itself with Art Nouveau creations of exceptional artistic quality: figurines, vases, and sculptural compositions with undulating lines, often inspired by the natural world.
The factory's success around 1900 is closely linked to the talent of the model maker and decorator Alois Hampel, whose works fully embody the Art Nouveau aesthetic. The factory is still in operation today.

The piece is marked under the base with the pink Royal Dux triangle, accompanied by a model number.
