Excellent overall condition, beautiful shine of the enamel, some slight irregularities from firing characteristic of handcrafted pieces.

Glazed stoneware bowl made by the Belgian ceramist Roger Guérin (1896–1954), an important figure in Art Deco ceramics.

Born in Jumet, trained in Châtelet and at the Sèvres porcelain factory, he founded the Roger Guérin Pottery in Bouffioulx in 1919, specializing in artistic salt-glazed stoneware and effect enamels. His work, halfway between Art Nouveau and Art Deco , is distinguished by sculptural forms and complex glaze research, often with metallic or crystalline nuances.

Present at the International Exhibition of Decorative Arts in Paris in 1925, he gained international recognition and collaborated with numerous Belgian artists. His works are now held in several European and American museums.

This piece, typical of the 1930s, perfectly illustrates the artist's technical mastery: a flowing, crystallized glaze in shades of cobalt blue, brown, and stone gray , giving the surface a rich and vibrant texture. The curved shape rests on a circular base, typical of the period.
