Very good overall condition. Wear and patina consistent with age. Slight oxidation of the bronze in places. The old photograph shows signs of age, slight alterations, and visible marks on the paper backing. See photos for details.

A patinated bronze Japanese photo frame, made at the end of the 19th century during the Meiji period (1868–1912). This finely chiseled frame features a naturalistic decoration composed of branches, flowers in relief and birds, in the style typical of Japanese decorative arts of the Meiji period, with a beautiful mastery of metalwork.

The facade is adorned with delicate bas-relief decoration on a textured background, with copper highlights emphasizing the plant and animal motifs. A small vertical plaque with Japanese ideograms is visible on the front, attesting to the piece's Japanese origin.

The frame retains its original antique photograph, dated 1880, depicting a young woman in late 19th-century attire. The photograph is mounted on period cardboard, with handwritten annotations visible on the back.

The back of the frame has a hanging ring and a folding metal stand, for wall or furniture display.
