Cuff bracelet signed Jean Painlevé Paris (JHP) , dating from the 1930s. This piece of jewelry combines a gilt brass body with red Galalith inlays adorned with marine motifs in relief representing gilt seahorses .

Jean Painlevé (1902-1989), known as a scientific and surrealist filmmaker close to Jean Vigo, was also a creator of original jewelry in the 1930s, inspired by the marine fauna he filmed.
