Exquisite Japanese box in cloisonné enameled brass, dating from the Meiji period (1868-1912).
This exquisite piece features a finely executed polychrome floral design, with multicolored flowers (yellow, blue, white, pink, and green) on a black background, typical of Japanese cloisonné art. The interior and underside are glazed in deep turquoise blue.
A high-quality piece of work, meticulously crafted using the cloisonné technique, which involves creating compartments in brass wire to receive colored enamel, then polished to obtain a smooth and glossy surface.
