A charming antique 800 silver pillbox, adorned with finely chased rocaille decoration featuring raised floral and foliate motifs. The lid bears an engraved monogram in the center within a Louis XV style cartouche. The interior is entirely gilded with vermeil (gilt silver), revealing an elegant matching repoussé decoration.
This round box, of fine quality, bears the French hallmark of a boar (800/1000 silver), used between 1838 and 1962. The body is decorated with an elegant gadrooned pattern highlighted with dots, typical of late 19th-century objets d'art. The hinge works perfectly and the lid closes securely.
A precious piece, ideal for a collection or for storing small treasures such as pills, rings or souvenirs.
