Dumler & Breiden Terra ceramic wall plate, 1960s – West Germany

Wall plate from the 1960s produced by Dumler & Breiden , a German ceramics manufacturer active in Höhr-Grenzhausen and a figure of the West German Pottery movement.
This model belongs to the Terra series, recognizable by its textured decoration obtained by the sgraffito technique, where the artist manually incises the surface to reveal the contrasting layer of clay.

The radiant, hypnotic, and highly graphic motif combines shades of brown, cream, and blue-gray in a broad, circular motion typical of Mid-Century productions. The piece is fully enameled inside and out, with a clear marking on the reverse: Ges Gesch. – Germany , along with the model number.
Plate designed as much as a decorative object as a wall piece, original with its vintage cord.
