A charming decorative glazed earthenware plate, made by the ceramist Dominique Pérot in Biot in the 1970s. The piece features a stylized design of a bird in flight against a background of foliage, in a palette of green, blue, brown, and ochre tones. Pérot's vibrant and expressive style evokes the influences of the post-war revival of Provençal ceramics.
The signature "D. Pérot" is incised under the base. Perfectly representative of the work of the artist active in Biot, a major center of artistic ceramics in the south of France.
