Superb small decorative polychrome majolica vase, made in Gualdo Tadino (Italy) in the 1920s. This baluster-shaped vase with a narrow neck features a vibrant decoration of stylized leaves, floral and geometric motifs in colored glazes, including cobalt blue, brick red, olive green and ochre yellow.
This type of production is emblematic of the ceramic know-how of Gualdo Tadino, a town renowned since the 19th century for its artistic earthenware in the neo-Renaissance and Liberty styles. The mark visible under the base, a "C" surrounded by rays, designates the Ceramics Cooperative , one of the main factories active in Gualdo Tadino at the beginning of the 20th century. The inscription "Gualdo Tadino, Italia" attests to its origin.
