Prudence DROUARD (1868-1957). Blue Crackle Glazed Stoneware Vase, 1930s.
- The pottery of Cérans-Foulletourte dates back to the Middle Ages. At that time, the center was closely linked to that of Ligron, just under ten kilometers away, and there were many links between the potters of the two villages.
- Sarthe products are widely distributed throughout the West of France: Cérans-Foulletourte (Sarthe), near Malicorne, was an important production center, particularly for horticultural and functional pottery until the 1960s.
- Prudence Drouard managed the Foulletourte factory from the 1930s and knew how to adapt production to changing trends. She signed her products with her stylized monogram "PD."
