An exceptional small 15th century Thai stoneware vase covered with an elegant green celadon glaze, typical of the production of Sawankhalok , a renowned ceramic center of the Sukhothai kingdom (later Ayutthaya). This vase has a refined ovoid shape with two small button handles on either side of the neck.
The pale green celadon glaze features a natural network of characteristic cracks, indicative of traditional firing and a beautiful patina of age. The unglazed base reveals ancient hand-thrown pottery. An ancient chip is visible on the neck.
